Twitter Mistakes Businesses Should Avoid
The Challenges of Tweeting
The innumerable social media guide books out there typically advice brands on everything they need to know in order to survive and succeed in the digital space. Although they are usually very comprehensive and cover the basics, we strongly believe that every networking channel is unique and has its specific list of do’s and don’ts that need to be followed. Online marketers focusing mainly on YouTube for instance, will have a completely different set of guidelines from marketers that primarily use Twitter or Facebook. Social media is a double edged sword; while the benefits are many, online marketing has not been without its challenges. In the case of Twitter, it is a great platform for: a) customer service b) posting regular updates about a brand or a particular product c) bringing brands closer to their audience and d) companies looking to extend their reach and gain visibility. According to the “The Fortune 500 and Social Media” yearly report from the Center for Marketing Research:
American Fortune 500 Companies dramatically increased their participation in Twitter to 60% in 2010, compared with 35% in 2009.
Three in five companies had active Twitter accounts.
The industries that were most strongly represented among the Fortune 500 Twitter accounts included retail; food, drug and CPG; and insurance.
The above numbers appear promising and show that companies are already using Twitter to bolster their brand. However, online marketers still hesitate to use the microblogging tool to its maximum potential or give up after the initial enthusiasm wanes out. This lack of confidence could stem from running into common Twitter-hurdles and making mistakes that can be easily avoided.

Newsblogging: How To Get Readers And Google To Love Your Blog
The New News
Do you think Google should help people find articles and posts from the news companies that are suing them over copyright issues? The search giant has no choice but to send traffic to people who are willing to make their content available on generous terms, and to avoid indexing content that others claim copyright to. This has always been a factor driving online citizen journalism. It turns out that corporations, nonprofit organizations, religious groups, and political campaigns can also be journalists, and that their journalism can have just as much influence as citizen journalists or media moguls if it’s well researched and well produced.
The Origins of Newsblogging
“Newsblogging” is a term I more or less invented to describe a style of blogging we stumbled onto in 2007, and then refined at the online PR firm, Patron Saint Productions. Our process was innovative and our results were extraordinary, so I spun the service off into a separate company in 2010. I partnered with a former employee, David Reich, to create SixEstate Communications. I believe that newsblogging will rapidly spread in the coming years and we’ll see an increasing proportion of news stories produced by private organizations, not media outlets. Let me explain why this is happening.
No Time to Blog
We came up with newsblogging when we found ourselves between a rock and a hard place with the new technology. The rock is blogging. It enables “principals” — CEOs, celebrities, spokespersons, political leaders, etc. — to communicate directly with their constituents. The thing is, those constituents no longer want to hear from me, the PR guy, the intermediary. They want to hear from the Big Kahuna herself or himself. The hard place, however, is that the Big Kahunas don’t have the time or journalism skills to blog effectively. The Big Kahunas are supposed to manage people, make appearances and run companies, for the most part, not write. They don’t have the two hours of concentration required each day to research and write a post worth reading.

10 Tips to Setting Up A Successful Blog
If you are interested in creating a Blog and want to have a successful launch that will help you to become recognized on the internet then I encourage you to follow these 10 steps that will help you to set up a successful blog about your passions, business, life etc…
Get Your Own Domain Name & Hosting ~ Owning your domain and hosting is a very important factor in your blog. You want your domain to be a “branding” effect as it has a greater impact than a domain that is forwarded and masked. Having your own domain name is what will separate you from all the other “hobby” bloggers that are out there. Working on “Self Branding” is what will get your name out there and let’s everyone know you are a serious blogger. Owning your domain name will allow you to use a hosting company to create a more powerful and professional blog. For instance withwww.SusanGoodknight.com I purchased my domain through Godaddy.com and I haveWordPress.org hosting. This was extremely simple to set up as at the time I purchased my domain I also purchased hosting for wordpress then completed my transaction. Now, I have my “branded domain” and I have hosting through wordpress to create a nice looking blog.
Learn Your Software ~ Once you determine what blog hosting software you’ll be using to create your blog get familiar with the set up. Blogger, WordPress or TypePad are very different from one another. Depending on what blogging service you choose to work with get educated on the software so you can customize your blog. Learn to work with and change up your templates, pictures, content and blog roll.
Learn from other great Bloggers that are out there ~ Read many of the successful blogs that are currently out there and follow them. Do not be afraid to ask questions and study the blogs that are currently set up. One system that I love for looking at other blogs is www.BetterNetworker.com and is a blogging community where you add your blog content and view other content. This is a great way to not only learn about blogging from some of the great bloggers out there like Mike Dillard and Katie Freiling but you’ll be able to share your very own content of your blog to gain an audience as well. Katie Freiling has created a wonderful online Tribe for bloggers as well called TheUnifiedTribe and if you are going to be serious about getting your blog out there these are the 2 communities I highly recommend each blogger be untied with as you’ll not only learn but will also grow.
Write in your blog consistently ~ Adding new content to your blog once or twice a month really isn’t going to allow you to build new readers on a consistent basis. You’ll not have the search engines crawling your blog as often as you would writing in your blog daily or at least 3 times each week. You create a blog around your passion and you will always have something to write about. That’s what blogging is all about. You want to give informative articles and information about your blog. So, if your blogging about Personal Growth then you’ll want to create new articles for your blog at least 3 times each week on Personal Development and Growth. You can talk about your journey to Personal Development, things you recommend and ways you stay inspired. As long as you are passionate about what you are writing there is no end to the amount of content you can place on your blog. You’ll gain followers who subscribe to your RSS and wait for another article to come out.
Blogging is building a fellowship ~ Your readers do not want to be “pitched” to about things you are selling or marketing. They are looking for information and a blogger who honestly cares about the content they are sharing. Blogging is building a fellowship, a virtual family that is searching for your information. Once you build the trust of your readers they will be open to here the resources you recommend and want to share. When you care you’ll find faithful followers that will return to read your blog consistently.
Allow Blog Communication ~ When you get your blog set up you want to allow for comments and track backs. A great widget you may want to place on your blog is a “Top Commentators” widget. This will allow for your top commentators to be listed on your blog pages. Doing this allows a link back to their own blog or website. You want to allow for the interactivity of fellow bloggers to comment on your articles.
Read other Blogs and Comment ~ When you get out there and read other blogs that are similar to yours you will be able to network with them, learn from them and share with them. You will read their articles and comment on it. When you leave your comment it will link back to your own blog. So, when you leave good comments that are worthy of the post then you’ll gain trust and fellowship as new readers will visit your blog.
Create a Blogroll ~ This is a list that will link to other blogs that you like. This is where communication comes in handy with other bloggers. In the land of blogging we love reciprocal linking. You can contact other bloggers about swapping your links for the blogroll. This allows for more readers to find you and also looks good for the search engines as well. Its about sharing and caring and this will help many all around.
Notify the Search Engines of Updates ~ When you make changes to your blog with new posts it is important to let people know about this by pinging. Doing this will let everyone know there is new content to read on your blog. You can use Ping Services such as PingOMatic.com to notify the updates to your blog.
Use an RSS Feed Reader ~ This is a very popular and easy way for your readers to follow your blog. When you use a RSS Feed such as FeedBurner through Google or another popular one FeedDemon. There are others you can use through Yahoo or MSN. Allowing your readers to subscribe to your RSS feed will help them to be notified of the new content you have placed on your blog.
So, there you have 10 simple steps to help you get your blog set up and on the road to becoming successful. Remember that it will take you some time to build up your blog and readers but with consistency you’ll become a master blogger in no time at all.

Although you are in a circumstance which you opportunity of buying twitter followers, nearly all individuals google for websites how people can grab the indicated types of followers at. With that being shared, how do you find the indicated people for sale and where do you discover them? What are the positives & hazards when you buy twitter followers? Fortunately the answers are somewhat simple. People may do a google using the term in any search engine – we prefer Google while we query any wording & that is no dissimilar for buy twitter followers. This will present you with an inventory of sites. The challenge is to figure out the details on these domains when you’re a newbie and our team will do this here to assist.
To look over the drawback for individuals that want to buy twitter followers. First of all, you might need to provide the individuals you buy twitter followers from your password which means groups can do anything people want with your account which might include stealing the password & changing the email on the account so people steal it from you. Originally, my largest anxiety is the individuals you buy twitter followers from might tweet things you do not want or have your account suspended, but fast found it may not appear weird for a twitter newbie to supply access to their corresponding email account which means that anything can happen. While you buy twitter followers, nearly all of the marketers offer targeted followers but there is no real way to document when people buy twitter followers if people are really targeted until you begin to tweet to them in that that is while you will obtain an idea in what way or manner active groups are. Finally, it’s grossly expensive to buy twitter followers. Last year, we grew our total followers by approximately 200,000 targeted followers. Based on what we’ve captured online, the price tag to do this ranges from $1,000′s or even more! In my mind, this is a total crime but maybe it is worth it for you.
